Read or Reel?

Reading is one of the most common hobbies, and is also one of the oldest. And with the technological boom, books have not been spared.  Now one can access books on the device of their convenience.  They can also read newspapers with a click of a button, and access news as an when the event happens.

However, there are also people who do not like e-books, or reading from anything that is not a book. They say it does not give them the same feeling and call out these e-readers.

I however, do not feel the same way.  I feel that ebooks are more convenient for users. Even though the feeling of turning the pages of a book may seem euphoric to some, it is not the same for everyone and there is no need to shame them. E-books are excellent for those who travel, and they do not have to pack all the books they want for a long journey. They can just download the books on their tablet/mobile device.

To the ones who find the idea of e-books revolting I ask this, do you love reading, or are in you in love with the idea of reading.  If you gain knowledge, satisfaction and entertainment, I think the purpose of the book has been fulfilled. So the medium does not matter.  I feel book readers should try to promote reading, no matter the medium, so that such an old hobby does not die with our generation.
